Great Start to the New Year

It was great to have kids back in the building this week – I hope everyone had an outstanding start to the New Year. I overheard our One Act Play practicing the other day and they sounded fantastic – I encourage everyone to attend one of the public performances either Friday, January 15 at 7 p.m. or Saturday the 16th at 8:00 p.m. – both performances will take place in the ’53 gym. We are currently working on the school calendar for next year; last year we were able to do a pre-labor day start, but we have not been given the ok from the legislation yet so we are creating a pre labor day start and a post labor day start. Next week three board members are myself will travel to Minneapolis for the MN School Board Association Wednesday – Friday; this is a great seminar as we are able to get ideas how to improve all areas of our district. As I mentioned in my last post I am including a photo of the week and this week I chose Brendan Adams and stack of books as he is currently the leader in the elementary with 279 AR points. He has read 42 books to achieve that many points in only 4 months – outstanding job!
